Have you ever thought about the soap making process? In this blog we will take that journey together. I have never made Cold Process Soap before so this will be an exciting adventure!
I would like if I may, to take you on a strange journey. Ok so it isn’t strange but new territory for me. A few years back, in 2012 I had an addiction to Melt and Pour soap making. I loved the process and found it very relaxing and satisfying. Over the last few months I have really wanted to start again but this time, delve into the Cold Process Soap Making world.
Not going to lye (see what I did there?) I am a little frightened by the thought of working with lye. However, it is a basic ingredient in soap making and if handled properly will be extremely safe.
I have done my research and feel confident enough to give it a go. First, I have a list of equipment that is needed, and I really love shopping on Amazon and with Prime I will have my items quickly which makes this even better. But first I will start with my local Dollar Tree, I know there are a few soap making supplies there I can use and save a lot of money!
While I patiently wait for my supplies to arrive, here is a list of what I ordered.
First, my list of soaping equipment:
Plastic Mixing Bowls with Handles x 4
Plastic Spatulas x 4
4 Pack Plastic Mixing Spoons
8 cup Pyrex Measuring Cup
Chop Sticks
Tea Strainer
Infrared Thermometer
Scale
Safety Goggles
Vinyl Gloves
Soap Molds
Cheese Cutter
Now for the soap ingredients:
Coconut Oil
Palm Oil
Olive Oil
Lye
Distilled Water

Thanks for reading and see ya next time!!
